Caitie?, has NO Markings on Her Scalp

She's got a neck date 1996, and a body tag 1997, but otherwise it has been difficult to identify this doll's collector name, because she has no markings on her scalp!

If she were a Caitie, I should have been able to find "JN" or "ST" somewhere, but alas all the glue has been removed and nothing has come up. There's no evidence of any codes being sanded off either.

Is she a Caitie?

So, I refer to her as Caitie, as that seems to be the closest face shape that she shares, and yet maybe she's totally rare.  I had a couple ideas about why this is.  Probably the wildest one is that she is an early pour or a test doll, who was created before the impression of the code to the mold.  Indeed I seem to think that she is a very original type of doll!

I didn't touch her eyes, which is probably a good thing given my reputation for scratching up dolls and their eyes.  But she did arrive in a box in a bent condition, and unfortunately her head was broken off.  It was something that I tried to fix right away, but not before noting the "VT5" code at the base of the neck (not on the back of the neck, but at the base, in an area that is normally not visible when the neck is attached).  Sadly I took no picture of this, but pretty much tried to fix her by pouring alot of superglue on her neck joint and re-attaching the head.  Yes friends, I am quite bad with how to handle dolls sometimes, and if she is rare this was probably not the way to go about things.  The zip tie that I found laying around the house was black, so she has a white cloth body, but a black zip tie at the neck.

As a result, her head does not turn left or right, though it doesn't really create a problem.  Anyone who might try to repair her the right way might have some difficult glue residue to clean.

At any rate, she has very attractive pink eyes, but she's a little embarrassed about the pink color so prefers the "Stormy" Monique wig that has long bangs and kind of shades her face.  I don't seem to think that it would be a good idea to glue on the wig in a permanent or semi-permanent way, given the unusual no code status of her, so her scalp is staying as clean as possible as long as I've got her.  Also she likes to try new wigs!

As far as other modifications, I touched up her eyebrows with brown colored pencil, and gave them more of an arch, and I also glossed her lips with clear nail polish.  This all happened before realizing that she might have been more valuable in the original state.
